Data-driven visions to support efforts to empower skills and decision-makers

As part of the National Observatory’s efforts to work on transferring and sharing knowledge in the fields of data analysis and policy development, NLO has organized a workshop on Monday, 22/05/2023 in cooperation with the World Bank. This 4-days bootcamp training aims at provide participants with a basic understanding of labor market analysis necessary for building an effective LMIS The theoretical component covered labor supply and demand, wage setting, government interventions, and data sources. Participants learned how to calculate a selected set of KPIs, including main labor market indicators. On the practical side, participants learned data analysis techniques, tools, and basic coding using Python programming language. Participants were introduced to blending data sources, creating interactive dashboards with Tableau, and calculating labor market indicators using data from Labor Force Surveys and OECD data. Overall, the workshop has equipped participants with the sound basic knowledge and practical skills to analyze labor markets. This was in the presence of a group of invitees and interested parties from the relevant authorities.
