The National Labor Observatory, in cooperation with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, held a specialized workshop on Sunday, July 19, 2026, to review the methodology of the Job Creation Index and the methodology of the Supply and Demand Forecasting Unit. The workshop was attended by specialists from both entities.

The workshop aimed to enhance integration and unify understanding of the methodologies adopted in developing the index and the forecasting unit. It also reviewed the frameworks and methodologies used to measure and forecast labor market needs, thereby contributing to improved output quality, supporting decision-making, and promoting data-driven reliance in developing labor market policies and initiatives.

The workshop reviewed the methodology of the Job Creation Index, which focuses on verifying the accuracy of job estimates in national strategies, programs, and projects. It also aimed to improve estimation methodologies and empower stakeholders with data and supporting tools to achieve more accurate and reliable estimates. The workshop also addresses the methodology of the Supply and Demand Forecasting Unit, which relies on data-driven forecasting models and economic methodologies aligned with international standards. This methodology aims to develop future projections of labor market needs, issue forecasting reports, and create interactive dashboards to support decision-making.

Furthermore, the workshop provides an opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss best practices in job creation and supply and demand forecasting. This strengthens the partnership between the National Labor Observatory and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, contributing to the achievement of labor market objectives and supporting the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 through the development of national data-driven tools and methodologies.
